Crack Murder and Conspiracy

The US District Court in Topeka unsealed indictments against eight people yesterday. Two are accused of the drug related murder of Crystal Fisher. As of March, 2011, the murder was still listed as unsolved. Now, Virok Webb and Marcus Roberson have been charged. They are alleged to have killed Crystal to prevent her from “snitching.”

Crystal was found, shot to death, in her car in Junction City in March of 2010. The two men accused are also charged with trafficking in crack and powdered cocaine. The conspiracy part has led to six others being charged in what amounts to a crack distribution ring.

This case had received a great deal of attention and speculation, including rumors that the police had something to do with Crystal’s death. One comment from a Junction City (JC) resident shows the level of paranoia:
”A good example is death of Crystal Fisher which is widely known was done by a JC Police officer but everyone is afraid to talk. The Police are above the law. This Police Officer took Crystal Fisher from her college class that day then was the police officer that claims to have found her while her car was still running. Wonder if he issued a ticket for having your car running while Crystal Fisher was setting in the car with the engine running while she was shot. Which Police Officer in JC will Arrest the cop that killed Crystal Fisher.”

Hopefully, these indictments will put the matter to rest until a trial determines the facts in the case.

The really sad thing is that the violence associated with drug dealing has reached out and touched another innocent who didn’t deserve it.
